We had three standalone games for the NFC West this week, and they all went quite well. This continues to be one of the strongest divisions in the league. We have to give the Arizona Cardinals credit for at least sticking with the Green Bay Packers and making them work for it, but it was a losing effort once again. Have no fear, as we have you covered with some Week 7 NFC West takeaways.

Efficiency is Key

It was no surprise that Davante Adams led the Los Angeles Rams with eight targets last week. Adams turned that into five catches for 35 yards, but as the Rams won with ease, not much more was needed from the veteran receiver. Ultimately, that’s because Adams caught three touchdown passes. Adams continues to prove to be a prudent off-season addition.

Will This be His Best Year Yet?

Yes, Matthew Stafford only threw for 182 yards on Sunday, but he was ultimately too good for his own sake. Stafford threw for five touchdowns against Jacksonville, which gave him an insane 17 touchdowns so far this year with just two interceptions. He’s now up to 1,866 yards, third in the NFL, while ranking 11th with a 66.2 QBR. It’s clear he’s not done yet.

And There He Is

Christian McCaffrey, the receiver, continued his standout season as he caught seven passes for 72 yards. The takeaway though, is that McCaffrey got things going on the ground for the first time all season. On Sunday, McCaffrey carried the ball 24 times for 129 yards and two touchdowns. This certainly changes for San Francisco.

Who Needs Warner

The San Francisco defense has been having issues at times this season as they’ve felt the effects of not having Nick Bosa. With Fred Warner last week, the cause for concern was only heightened. Instead, Bijan Robinson had one of his worst games of the season against them as they held him to just 92 combined yards. Robinson gained just 40 yards on 14 carries, although he did catch six passes for 52 yards and a touchdown.

Will There be a Controversy

We really shouldn’t be having the conversation of Kyler Murray or Jacoby Brissett. That goes against everything that the Arizona Cardinals have been trying to build, but Brissett, over the last two games, has been better than Murray. In fact, in both of his starts, Brissett has kept the Cardinals in the game until the very end. This week, he threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns.

Is Bam It?

For at least two more weeks, if not longer, the Arizona Cardinals will be looking for a running back. This week, it was clear that Bam Knight is it. Well, at least from a quantity perspective, that is, although Knight did have a solid game. He gained 57 yards on 14 carries while catching three passes for five yards. With 4.1 yards per carry, Knight did a good job moving the ball.

Short Yardage Goes to Charbonnet

While Kenneth Walker did lead in carries, 17 to 12, it was Zach Charbonnet who got the goal-line work. He found the end zone twice while averaging 4.1 yards per carry. Walker finished with 66 yards as the Seahawks are taking full advantage of having both running backs healthy. It’s certainly contributed to a strong offense.

No More Words

Everyone knows what’s going to happen. And then, it happens. From a Seattle perspective, the best part about it is that no one can stop it. This time, Jaxon Smith-Njigba was targeted 14 times. All he did was catch eight passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. How many more superlatives will we have left for Smith-Njigba by the end of the season?
