The Baltimore Ravens could have a kicker conundrum. After parting ways with long-time kicker Justin Tucker, general manager Eric DeCosta is putting a ton of pressure on rookie Tyler Loop, who the team picked in the sixth round of this year’s NFL Draft.
In order to alleviate some of that pressure … or add to it … we’re not really sure, DeCosta and the Ravens added a trio of players on Monday, including a kicker.

The team announced on Monday via X that they’re signed kicker John Hoyland, tackle Lucas Scott and defensive back Keyon Martin.
Hoyland made just short of 80 percent of his kicks at Wyoming and all but one extra point in 147 attempts as a five-year starter in the Mountain West Conference. He’ll be expected to battle Loop for the starting job unless DeCosta signs a veteran before the beginning of the season.
The smart money? They hand the job to Loop and cross their fingers.
Former Army offensive tackle Lucas Scott, Hoyland and former Louisiana-Lafayette defender Keyon Martin were offered UDFA deals after participating in the rookie minicamp.

Scott was a two-year starter at Army, competing in 26 games in 2023-23 and Martin started 36 games across three seasons at Louisiana-Lafayette and posted 124 tackles with 88 solo and three for loss. He added three interceptions, 14 passes defended and two forced fumbles.
The Ravens are entering offseason workouts with kicker being maybe the biggest question on the roster. Unless something changes, coach John Harbaugh will have to depend on a rookie kicker to help push the offense past the competitive AFC North and into the postseason.
