There was a time when you said the name Jordan Davis, you knew you were talking about the “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot” singer.
That all changed in 2022 when the Philadelphia Eagles drafted a very tall and large defensive lineman out of Georgia named, well, Jordan Davis.
To add to the confusion, the two Jordan Davises also have similar but nonetheless distinct social media handles. The singer goes by @jordandavisofficial, while the football player uses @jordandavis99.
But to the average person tagging the artist when rushing to post pictures from one of his shows, they’re probably not concerned about which Davis is getting mentioned.
“I’m sure you get your fair share of tags,” the player told the singer when they first met in 2023. “I’ll be sitting there [and get someone saying], ‘I loved your concert.’ And I’m like, ‘I just had practice today. What are you talking about?”
Well, guess what? This week, it turns out the singer Jordan Davis is once again on the receiving end of some unintentional fan love.
Jordan Davis Fans Have Slipped Into His DMs
Discussing the ongoing mix-up, the singer Jordan Davis told Barstool’s Hannah Montoya that he began to notice the issue when the football player Jordan Davis made a stunning play on Sep. 21.
In case you don’t follow football, Davis blocked an attempted field goal by the Los Angeles Rams with three seconds left in the game. The 330-pound player then ran nearly 19 mph to score a touchdown, sealing the victory for the Eagles.
Unsurprisingly, after this play, the singer Jordan Davis felt a lot of love from Eagles fans.
“It’s the best fan base in the world,” said Davis. “Just reading some of these, I almost wanted to text Jordan and be like, ‘Dude, I need to screenshot you these messages because they love you.’ They’re like, ‘Dude, I never gave up on you. I knew you were [going to be good].’ It was like these heartfelt grown men expressing how much they love Jordan Davis. ‘You did it for Philly, dude. Thank you so much, 99.'”
Has Davis Ever Replied to Eagles Fans?
When asked if Davis has ever replied to the DMs, he says no. However, the question gave the singer an idea.
“I should have hit them back, be like, ‘Dude, thanks, man. Check out my new single.”
