The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Atlanta Falcons 20-10 on Sunday night at Levi’s Stadium, and will now turn around for an interconference matchup with the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium in Week 8.

San Francisco may have gotten tight end George Kittle and defensive lineman Kevin Givens back, but now they’ve lost center Jake Brendel and edge rusher Bryce Huff to multi-week injuries, adding to the long list of impactful 49ers sidelined due to injury.

Heading into this important matchup in Week 8, San Francisco opened as 1.5-point favorites and have remained there over the last few days. The over/under opened at 42.5 points and has actually dropped to 41.5 while San Francisco has remained +105 ($100 bet wins $105) on the money line.

Houston hasn’t had the best start to their 2025 campaign, winning just two of their first seven games. However, their defense is arguably the best in the league, allowing the fewest points per game (14.7) and fourth-fewest yards per game (274.2). They’ve also taken the ball away 10 times, recording seven interceptions and recovering three fumbles.

San Francisco had done well to overcome all of their challenges this season, but the Texans’ defense will certainly test whoever is under center for the 49ers on Sunday (likely Mac Jones).
