Are the Las Vegas Raiders trading Maxx Crosby, or aren’t they? In spite of recent rumors that the Raiders were engaged in trade talks with the Dallas Cowboys regarding the superstar defensive end, they apparently told Crosby that he would not be dealt before the Nov. 4 deadline, putting an end to all of the speculation.

Or did it?

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk isn’t entirely sold that Las Vegas isn’t trading Crosby, and he also isn’t buying the idea that the four-time Pro Bowler is eager to remain with the Silver and Black.

“I don’t know that I believe the last part,” Florio said on PFT Live. “I think he’s stuck, and he got paid and you know, if they’re not going to trade him, it’s not useful for him to start making it known he doesn’t want to be there.”

Crosby just signed a three-year, $106.5 million extension with the Raiders during the offseason, a pact that will keep him in the desert through 2029. That alone makes the sudden trade conjecture weird. But Florio doesn’t necessarily think that Crosby is immune to getting dealt.

Maxx Crosby, Las Vegas Raiders

“I still don’t believe Crosby falls into that category of untouchable players,” Florio added. “And I think a sufficient offer would potentially get their attention. We’ve seen this before. We know how it goes. You don’t get maximum value for a player if you tell the world we want to trade the player. You have to be coy. You have to create a market. You have to maximize through negotiation what you get. That’s what we’re thinking. I’m thinking it’s possible. I’m not saying it will happen. I just don’t believe the denial. I don’t think he’s an untouchable player.”

Crosby has logged 28 tackles, four sacks, an interception and five passes defended thus far in 2025.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Eastern Michigan, was originally selected by the Raiders in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and immediately established himself as a dynamic pass-rushing threat during his rookie campaign, finishing with 10 sacks.

Crosby has posted three double-digit sack campaigns overall, topping out at 14.5 in 2023. Last year, he totaled 45 tackles and 7.5 sacks in 12 games, missing some time due to injury.

Not a whole lot has worked out in Las Vegas this year. The Raiders are just 2-5 and are well on their way to missing the playoffs yet again, which certainly has to be frustrating for Crosby.
