The countdown to the release of the 2025 NFL schedule is here, and in a matter of days we should know when the Green Bay Packers face off against each of their opponents. Let’s take a look at each team they play this season, in alphabetical order, and travel back to the last time the Packers got a win.
@ Arizona Cardinals
The Packers most recently played the Arizona Cardinals…last season! This game was in Green Bay, and the Packers had no trouble coming out with a win, 34-13. Jordan Love threw for 258 yards and 4 TDs and Josh Jacobs led the ground game with 62 rushing yards. Christian Watson was the team’s leading receiver with 68 yards and 1 TD. The odds of him being available for this game are slim, so another receiver will have to step it up this go-around. The team’s most recent game in Arizona was in October of 2021, which they also won, 24-21 (thanks, Rasul Douglas!).
Baltimore Ravens
The team stays home this year against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, and it will be just their 8th time ever playing each other. Green Bay has fared well against Baltimore, with 5 wins in the all-time series. Their most recent matchup was in 2021, which the Packers won 31-30 at M&T Bank Stadium with Jackson sidelined due to an injury. Aaron Rodgers threw for 268 yards and 3 TDs, Marquez Valdes-Scantling was the team’s leading receiver with 98 yards and 1 TD, and Aaron Jones led the team with 58 rushing yards. What a time. The last time this matchup was played in Green Bay, the Packers were shut out 23-0 in 2017.
Carolina Panthers
The Packers will also be at home this year against the Carolina Panthers, and this time, they’ll have to play a receiver in whom they showed a ton of interest before the draft, Tetairoa McMillan. These two teams last faced off at Bank of America Stadium on Christmas Eve in the 2023 season, and the Packers eked out a 33-30 win against the 2-win Panthers. Jordan Love threw for 219 yards and 2 TDs, Romeo Doubs had 79 receiving yards with 1 TD, and Aaron Jones had 127 yards on 21 carries. The last time these teams played at Lambeau Field was in 2020, a game which the Packers won 24-16.
Chicago Bears
The Packers will, of course, face the Chicago Bears both at home and at Soldier Field for the 211th and 212th meetings between the two storied franchises. Last November, the Packers beat the Bears 20-19 in Chicago after Karl Brooks blocked what would have been a Cairo Santos game-winning FG. Jordan Love finished this game with 261 passing yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT. Christian Watson had 150 receiving yards on just 4 catches, and Josh Jacobs rushed for 76 yards and 1 TD.
The team’s most recent matchup was in January at Lambeau Field, and for the first time since the 2018 season, the Packers lost, 24-22. This was also the Packers’ first time losing to the Bears in Green Bay since the 2015 season. The game was a sloppy one, and the team ended up losing both Jordan Love and Christian Watson due to injuries. Malik Willis was the team’s leading passer with 136 yards. Emanuel Wilson rushed for 73 yards and 1 TD, and Malik Heath was the leading receiver with 53 yards. If we see that combination of names as stat leaders at any point this season, something has gone very wrong for Green Bay.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Packers’ last two games against the Cincinnati Bengals have gone to OT, but the good news is that Green Bay won both of them! The teams most recently met in Cincinnati during the 2021 season, and both kickers combined for 5 missed FGs in the span of maybe…7 minutes? In true Mason Crosby fashion, after 3 missed FGs, he went on to make the game-winner, and the final score was 25-22. Aaron Rodgers had 344 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 INT during this game. Aaron Jones rushed for 103 yards, and Davante Adams had a career-high 206 receiving yards and 1 TD. The last time these teams played in Green Bay was 2017, when the Packers won 27-24 in OT.
@ Cleveland Browns
The Packers have won their last 4 matchups against the Cleveland Browns, most recently on Christmas Day during the 2021 season by a score of 24-22. Aaron Rodgers threw for 202 yards and 3 TDs, Aaron Jones rushed for 66 yards, and Davante Adams had 114 yards with 2 receiving TDs. Baker Mayfield was the Browns QB during this game. Who the opposing QB will be this time is still up in the air, and probably will be until the morning of the game (they have a ton to choose from!) The last time these teams played in Cleveland was during the 2017 season, and the Packers won 27-21 in OT.
@ Dallas Cowboys
The schedule says this game is in Dallas, but we all know this is a home game for the Packers, who have not lost a single game at AT&T Stadium. Their last meeting in Dallas was in the playoffs of the 2023 season, when the 7-seed Packers wowed everybody with a 48-32 rout of the Cowboys. Jordan Love had one of the best performances of his career with 272 yards and 3 TDs. Aaron Jones had 118 yards and 3 TDs of his own, and Romeo Doubs had a career-best 151 yards and a TD. Can the Packers cruise to a 7-0 record at AT&T Stadium this season, or will the Cowboys win their first game against Green Bay since 2016?
@ Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos have the edge over the Packers in their all-time series, with a record of 8-7-1. Even worse, the Packers have only won at Denver just once, way back in 2007. Their most recent win against the Broncos came in 2019 at Lambeau Field, when they won 27-16. Aaron Rodgers had 235 yards with 1 TD, MVS led the team in receiving with 99 yards and a score, and the team’s leading rusher was Jamaal Williams with 59 yards. The last time these teams played was in Jordan Love’s first year as the starting QB, and the Packers fell 19-17 in a game which many would consider the low point of the 2023 season.
Detroit Lions
The Packers will face the Detroit Lions twice this year as they attempt to regain control of the NFC North. Things have not gone so well for Green Bay in recent years, with the team having just 1 win against Detroit in their last 7 matchups. This win, of course, came on Thanksgiving Day in 2023, when the Packers stunned the Lions at Ford Field on national television, 29-22. Jordan Love had 268 passing yards with 3 TDs, Christian Watson had 94 yards and a TD, and the team’s leading rusher was AJ Dillon with 43 yards.
The teams’ most recent matchup at Lambeau Field was in November of 2024, when the Lions bested the Packers 24-14. Jordan Love threw for 273 yards and 1 pick. Josh Jacobs rushed for 95 yards, and Jayden Reed led the way with 113 receiving yards. The team’s lone TD came on a 2 yard run by Emanuel Wilson near the end of the game. Different results this time, yes? Thanks.
Minnesota Vikings
The Packers will also face the Minnesota Vikings twice this season, in what is their least-lopsided matchup from the NFC North in recent years. The Packers’ most recent win against Minnesota came on the Vikings’ home turf on New Year’s Eve in 2023, in a 33-10 rout. Jordan Love had 256 passing yards and 3 TDs. Aaron Jones averaged 6 yards a carry while finishing with 120 yards, and the Packers got their first 100-yard receiver of the season with Bo Melton’s 105 yard/1 TD performance. This win put the Packers in control of their playoff destiny that season, and they ended up making it in Jordan Love’s first year as a starter.
The team’s most recent game against the Vikings at Lambeau Field was a 31-29 heartbreaker of a loss, which saw the Packers nearly complete a comeback after being down 28-0 in the first half. Jordan Love hit peak-Favre this game, with a career-high 389 yards, 4 TDs, and 3 INTs. Josh Jacobs had 51 yards on 9 carries, and Jayden Reed had a career-high 139 receiving yards and 1 TD. I repeat: different results this time, yes? THANKS.
@ New York Giants
The Packers have lost their last 2 matchups against the New York Giants, including the last time they met at MetLife Stadium in 2023 (24-22). Luckily for the Packers, there will be no Saquon Barkley on the field during this season’s matchup, but I’ve seen them get burnt by RBs worse than Tyrone Tracy, so who’s to say this game will be any better? Green Bay’s most recent win against this team was a lopsided 31-13 on the Giants’ home turf back in 2019, Matt LaFleur’s first year as HC. Aaron Rodgers had 243 yards and 4 TDs. Jamaal Williams led the team on the ground with 41 yards, and Allen Lazard was the team’s leading receiver with 103 yards and a score.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Packers will unfortunately have to face off against the team who handed them both their first and last losses of the 2024 season, the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. There will be a Saquon Barkley on the field for this one. The teams’ last three meetings have been home games for Philadelphia, and they’ve all been Packers losses. The most recent matchup in Green Bay is also the Packers’ most recent win, with a score of 30-16 in 2020. For Philly, this game was officially the passing of the torch from Carson Wentz to Jalen Hurts, but Aaron Rodgers had 295 yards and 3 TDs, while Davante Adams had 121 yards and 2 TDs. Aaron Jones put up 130 rushing yards and 1 TD on 15 carries.
@ Pittsburgh Steelers
The Packers will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers this season. Their last trip to Acrisure Stadium (it’s been several years since the name change and I still do not like calling it this!) ended in a 23-19 loss in 2023. The team’s most recent win against Pittsburgh came at Lambeau Field back in 2021, with a score of 27-17. Aaron Rodgers had 248 yards and 2 TDs. During this game, he threw his 420th career TD pass to Randall Cobb, who finished the day with 69 yards, a very nice stat if I may say so myself. Cobb caught both of Rodgers’ TD passes this day. AJ Dillon led the team on the ground with 81 yards.
Washington Commanders
The Packers will be at Lambeau Field as they take on Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders, who surprised everyone by going all the way to the NFC Championship with their rookie QB last season. The last time these teams met was in 2022, when the Packers lost 23-21 at what was then known as FedEx Field. The Packers’ most recent win against the Commanders (known as the Washington Football Team at the time) came at Lambeau Field in 2021, when the Packers won 24-10. Aaron Rodgers finished the day with 274 yards and 3 TDs, while Davante Adams was the team’s leading receiver with 76 yards and a TD. Aaron Jones led the team on the ground with…19 yards.
Of the Packers’ 14 opponents this season, 4 of them are teams Jordan Love has never faced as the starting QB. As we approach the release of the 2025 schedule, who do you think the Packers beat this season, and do they improve from last year’s 11-6 playoff-qualifying performance?
