But typically, for a team looking to make a second-half playoff push, trading away a player isn’t part of that recipe.

Oftentimes, there are two requirements for a team to make a trade: they draft picks to trade away and salary cap space to take on the incoming player’s contract.

After reworking several veteran contracts recently to create more room, the Jaguars now have $11.98 million in salary cap space, according to Over the Cap, which ranks 17th in the NFL.
