The NFL trade deadline (Nov. 4) is 11 days away, but with two games before now and the deadline, Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton is not dwelling on potential moves.

Payton was asked after Wednesday’s practice about potentially improving the 5-2 roster by adding talent at the trade deadline. This was the coach’s response: “I think there are two weeks or so [until the deadline]. George [Paton] and I speak each day about it. It would just be dependent on a few things, but right now, the plan is we like what we currently have, and we’ll kind of approach it that way.”

Pundits have speculated that Denver could bring in a wide receiver or another guard, but Payton seemed to hint that the Broncos might not be active leading up to the deadline. The club hopes guard Ben Powers will be able to return in December, and Payton said Alex Palczewski played “good, really good” on Sunday.

“He got a game ball,” Payton said of Palcho. “It was impressive.”

If Denver lands an extra compensatory draft pick for losing Javonte Williams in free agency this spring, the team will hold eight picks in the 2026 NFL draft. We’ll see if that number changes before the trade deadline.
