As the Pittsburgh Steelers approach the NFL trade deadline, there’s one player in particular I need the front office to stay far away from, and I have an unfortunate feeling that it might actually happen.
With Allen Lazard being Aaron Rodgers’ good friend, I could totally see him asking the Steelers to bring him in.

He did the same thing with the Jets, and we all saw how that worked out. While he isn’t a horrible player by any means, he’s far from what he once was with the Green Bay Packers, and doesn’t need an opportunity to play for a contending team like the Steelers.
If they were to make another move or two and ensure that they have a WR in the room outside of DK Metcalf, I wouldn’t hate it, but I also don’t think there’s any reason to bring in a guy like Lazrd, who we know drops passes and likely won’t play much when it matters most.
Despite that, USA Today believes that he’s the top option to get traded to the Steelers from the Jets roster, something that I really hope doesn’t come true.
“Lazard has been all but a non-factor in New York’s passing offense in the post-Aaron Rodgers era. He’s started once in five games and recorded just nine targets, six catches and 40 yards. He does have a touchdown though, something only one other Jets wide receiver can say.

“Regardless, a move to Pittsburgh to return to a Rodgers-led offense seems like the perfect solution for Lazard, who tallied over 500 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons he played catching passes from the veteran,” Jack McKessy wrote.
The 29-year-old has been about average throughout much of his career and has been very below average in recent years.
On the season, he has absolutely no place in the Jets offense, which is really saying something considering that they have one of the worst offenses in the NFL.
Lazard could perhaps figure things out in a better offense, but only having 40 yards and six receptions on the year, essentially showing that the Jets have no trust in him to help this team out, is very sad and concerning.
