Could the Houston Texans be in the market to trade away names sitting at 2-4? ESPN isn’t ruling out anything entering Week 8’s showdown against the San Francisco 49ers.

The publication recently revealed its top 25 players who could be moved before the November 4 deadline and included veteran linebacker Christian Harris. After losing out on reps to former Indianapolis Colts starter E.J. Speed and in a contract season, ESPN believes for the right price, Houston should at least consider its options.

“Harris is a once-productive starter relegated to a reserve role in Houston’s defense, due in part to injuries. But he is healthy now and still 24 years old,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler wrote. “Texans coach DeMeco Ryans is a disciple of the 49ers coaching staff, and San Francisco might need linebacker help after Fred Warner’s season-ending injury. And Texans general manager Nick Caserio is among the most aggressive dealmakers in the league.”

The 49ers were one team listed as a potential landing spot. The other? Dallas, which is currently awaiting the return of former Texas starter DeMarvion Overshown to return from a torn ACL.

Known for his coverage skills, Harris could be an upgrade in San Francisco over backups like rookie Nick Martin and veteran Luke Gifford. ESPN puts a move at only 30, but given the need for depth on contending teams, Houston could net a decent return if it chooses to move off the soon-to-be free agent.

“A long run-and-hit defender at the second level, Harris can play downhill as a stack ‘backer and pursue the football quickly on the edges,” ESPN’s Matt Bowen wrote. “However, hip tightness and limited coverage awareness show on the tape, which could make Harris a better fit as an early-down/base-package defender.”

The Texans take on the 49ers this Sunday at noon. The game will be televised on FOX.
