Jaxson Dart on playing in Philadelphia and SEC road games

Ahead of his first road game in Philadelphia, Jaxson Dart talked about his experience playing in the SEC.

The NFL and NFL Players Association have announced punishments for concussion protocol violations by the New York Giants in the NFL Week 6 game on Oct. 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The action comes in response to how the team handled Jaxson Dart’s situation. Running back Cam Skattebo was among those fined.

Why?

The league fined the rookie out of Arizona State $15,000 for “conduct detrimental to the league.”

Skattebo entered the medical tent where Dart was being evaluated, along with Giants head coach Brian Daboll, and that created a “perception that they were interfering with Dart’s exam,” according to the NFL and the NFLPA.

Daboll was fined $100,000. The Giants were fined $200,000.

What NFLPA, NFL said about Cam Skattebo’s ‘violation’

A statement from the NFLPA and NFL said that Skattebo and Daboll’s “conduct was inconsistent with and demonstrated a disregard for the concussion protocol’s requirements and therefore constituted a violation.”

The league and NFL Players Association started an investigation of the incident one day after the game.

The NFL also sent out a memo to every NFL team, per reports, saying that medical personnel are the only people other than the player in question allowed to go into the medical tent during a concussion evaluation.

Brian Daboll shares why he entered medical tent

“I’ll say this, like I said last night, I went in, didn’t actually go in, just stuck my head in to see how our quarterback was doing. Just asked him, ‘How you doing?'” Daboll said Oct. 17. “In no way would I want a player to come back out there that wasn’t ready to play. I think I have great respect for that process.”

The Giants defeated the Eagles in that game in Week 6, 34-17.
