FRISCO — The Cowboys will have a change at the safety position for the third consecutive week for Sunday’s game at Denver.
Starting strong safety Donovan Wilson was ruled out for the game with shoulder and elbow injuries. It’s the first time Wilson has missed a game this season.
Friday’s injury/practice report indicated Juanyeh Thomas, who missed the Carolina game, is questionable with a migraine. Thomas, who started two games in place of injured starter Malik Hooker (foot), said he’s still working with the medical staff to find a solution to his health issue. Thomas said he’s never had migraines before and it bothered him so much that he wore shaded glasses because bright lights bothered him.
If Thomas doesn’t play, the Cowboys will use Markquese Bell as a starter, possibly alongside rookie Alijah Clark.

Coach Brian Schottenheimer had high praise for Clark before Friday’s practice.
“The physicalness, man jumps off the film,” Schottenheimer said Friday of the undrafted Clark from Syracuse. “Watch him on special teams, this guy loves contact. He loves to hit. This is a guy that we really, really liked when we targeted him when we got in the undrafted free agency.
“We really targeted him and were thrilled that we could get him. He’s really become an incredible gunner, the ability to run and hit and do the things that he’s done on special teams shows you the capability of that upside of him. As a safety, another guy if he’s out there playing, we have a ton of confidence in him to make plays.”
