Here are four things to know about the Colts vs. Titans Week 8 matchup, plus a prediction.

The Indianapolis Colts are back home in Week 8 for a divisional matchup with the Tennessee Titans.

This will be the second time this season that the two teams have met. The Colts would win the first game in Tennessee 40-21 in Week 3.

For the latest insights, Serena Burks of Titans Wire answered several questions about where this Titans team stands heading into Sunday’s game.

What’s gone well for Cam Ward and where can he improve?

Burks: “What’s gone well for Cam Ward is that he’s Cam Ward. I know that sounds cliché, but Brian Callahan did not have the same success with Ward as he did with Burrow, and I’m of the mindset that Ward has continued to develop in spite of Callahan.

“The problem is, he’s basically winging it, which is why he’s so inconsistent. And that’s the biggest area of improvement: consistency. When Cam is on, he is deadly accurate, makes good decisions, and moves the ball down the field. But he has only done it for half a game every game, and that’s not effective. When he improves his consistency, he won’t take as many sacks, and he won’t turn the ball over as often.”

It’s only been one game, but were there any differences in last week’s game following the coaching change?

Burks: “Honestly, not really. Losing Jeffery Simmons in the middle of the second quarter didn’t help, and L’Jarius Sneed went down with a quad injury, which put the defense in a tough position. That said, Chimere Dike and Van Jefferson stepped up on offense last week in the absence of Calvin Ridley. Not sure how much of that is coaching versus their competitiveness, though. Thinking about it, I believe the Titans were penalized fewer times last week than they have been all season, which I absolutely attribute to coaching.”

Are there any particular areas where the Titans have found some success this season against opponents?

Burks: “I would say there are specific players who are giving opponents fits. Jeffery Simmons, T’Vondre Sweat, Cedric Gray, and Cody Barton have all played very well on the defensive side of the ball.”

Who is an under-the-radar player or two for Colts fans to know?

Burks: “I had to think about this one a little bit, but defensive end Jihad Ward is someone I would keep an eye on. He’s a 10-year veteran, but don’t let his age fool you. He hasn’t made a huge splash with the Titans, but he has made some key plays during crucial moments that have been impactful. He can sniff out the ball better than most.”

Prediction time: Who wins and why?

Burks: “Oh the Colts win and it’s not even close. Yes, there’s talk of this being a trap game for the Colts, but let’s be real. Daniel Jones looks like he’s in peak form this season, and his supporting cast has risen to the challenge. The Titans have a lot of work to do, and they’ll be without some starters on both sides of the ball because of injury, plus the release of Tyler Lockett. That’s not to say there isn’t a possibility the Titans get a win, it’s just really hard to see this game going that way.”
