The Washington Commanders will finally have their two best wide receiver weapons on the field when they face off against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night.
Terry McLaurin has missed each of the Commanders’ last four games after suffering a quad injury in the team’s Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Deebo Samuel was unavailable for last Sunday’s Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys as he deals with a nagging heel injury.
Both McLaurin and Samuel were able to log full participation in practice every day this week — and both have been officially cleared to take the field for Monday night’s primetime matchup against the Chiefs.

After months of negotiations, McLaurin and the Commanders came to terms on a three-year, $87 million contract extension before the start of the 2025 season. Before suffering his quad injury in Week 3, the 30-year-old wide receiver had reeled in 10 catches for 149 yards and no touchdowns.
The Commanders traded for Samuel this past offseason, sending a fifth-round pick to San Francisco in exchange for the veteran pass-catcher.
He picked up the slack at the wide receiver position in McLaurin’s absence, catching 34 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns through six games of action. The team has also deployed him as a rushing weapon, giving him eight carries for 45 yards and one touchdown.

Unfortunately for the Commanders, McLaurin and Samuel won’t be catching passes from their No. 1 quarterback in Monday’s matchup against the Chiefs.
Second-year signal-caller Jayden Daniels has already been ruled out with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday’s Week 7 loss to the Cowboys, opening the door for veteran backup Marcus Mariota to make the start.
Monday night’s matchup against Patrick Mahomes and the red-hot Chiefs will kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET from Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium.
