Atlanta’s practice squad elevations could provide depth at quarterback, wide receiver in Week 8.

The Atlanta Falcons have announced two practice squad elevations ahead of Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Quarterback Easton Stick and wide receiver Dylan Drummond will join the team’s 53-man roster in Week 8.

Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. (knee) and wide receiver Drake London (hip) were both listed as questionable on the team’s injury report. Penix was limited for all three days of practice this week, and according to a report from ESPN, it is “highly likely” that Kirk Cousins will get the start on Sunday.

As for London, his injury is a bit more mysterious. He wasn’t listed on the injury report until Friday. While London was not initially given a game designation, he was officially downgraded to questionable on Saturday due to a hip injury.

Falcons elevate QB Easton Stick, WR Dylan Drummond

Sunday’s game will be Stick’s first elevation of the season. The veteran quarterback played well in the preseason, but the Falcons haven’t needed him with both Penix and Cousins on the roster. This elevation may be another sign that the team is planning to sit Penix in Week 8.

Wide receiver Dylan Drummond has yet to play this season, but like Stick, he played well in the preseason for Atlanta. Drummond may actually see the field now that London’s status is in doubt. Plus, the Falcons just released Ray-Ray McCloud on Tuesday, leaving a hole at wide receiver.

Falcons make roster moves ahead of Week 8

On Saturday, the Falcons placed linebacker Divine Deablo on the injured reserve list, while activating Jordan Fuller in a corresponding move. The team also signed linebacker Ronnie Harrison off the practice squad. Atlanta still had a roster spot available after releasing Ray-Ray McCloud. Check out the team’s updated 53-man roster here.

The Falcons have struggled on the road this season but are 2-1 at home. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are 1-6 and have lost three straight games. Atlanta and Miami will kick things off at 1 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday.
