The Colts elevated two players from the practice squad ahead of their Week 8 game against the titans.
The Indianapolis Colts announced a pair of roster moves prior to their Week 8 matchup with the Tennessee Titans.
The team is elevating cornerback Cameron Mitchell and defensive end Durell Nchami from the practice squad.
Each practice squad player is eligible to be elevated up to three times in a season. This will be Mitchell’s third elevation, meaning that if the Colts want him available on Sunday moving forward, he will have to be added to the 53-man roster.
This will be Nchami’s first elevation this season.
With the Colts very thin at cornerback, Mitchell has provided depth over the last two weeks. Against the Chargers, he shared playing time at outside cornerback with Johnathan Edwards, opposite of Mekhi Blackmon.
In that game, Mitchell allowed two targets on two receptions for 22 yards, according to PFF.
Nchami’s elevation comes with Samson Ebukam and Tyquan Lewis both ruled out for this week’s game.
Nchami went undrafted in 2023 out of Maryland. He joined the Colts’ practice squad last season and was with the team throughout this year’s training camp, where he was able to stand out during the preseason.
Nchami has no career regular-season NFL snaps. He, along with JT Tuimoloau, will take on larger roles behind Laiatu Latu and Kwity Paye.
