BALTIMORE, Md. (WBFF) — The Baltimore Ravens put out a statement Friday afternoon, explaining why the NFL team changed Lamar Jackson’s practice participation from full to limited on October 25.

The team said its decision to downgrade Jackson, and ultimately downgrade his game status to out of Sunday’s game against the Bears, came after further evaluation and conferring with the league office because “Lamar didn’t take starter reps in practice.”

This comes after Ian Rapoport, National Insider for the NFL Network, posted on X Friday morning, saying sources told him “Jackson ran the scout team on Friday.”

Jackson was listed as limited at practice on Wednesday and Thursday, as well.

The 28-year-old QB hasn’t played a game since suffering a hamstring injury during the Ravens game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 28, forcing him to leave the game midway through the third quarter.

Baltimore, led by back-up quarterback Tyler Huntley, will host the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
