Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers secured their second straight win in Week 7, jumping to 4-1-1 on the 2025 NFL season after a 27-23 win on the road against Jacoby Brissett and the Arizona Cardinals. Parsons had his best game since the Dallas Cowboys traded him to the Packers, recording five tackles, three sacks and four tackles for loss.

With eight minutes and 24 seconds remaining in the second quarter, Parsons tallied what would have been his second sack of the day after bringing down Brissett near the line of scrimmage. However, the former Penn State star was flagged for a hip-drop tackle, giving Arizona a free 15 yards and setting up a field goal.

Although officials flagged Parsons for a hip-drop tackle, he dodged a bullet heading into Week 8 by avoiding a fine for the hit. In the NFL, players are typically fined up to $17,389 for a first hip-drop tackle violation, with the amount increasing to $23,186 for a second offense.

However, four other NFL players were fined for hip-drop tackles in Week 7, including Carolina Panthers linebacker D.J. Wonnum, Los Angeles Rams safety Quentin Lake, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston and Tennessee Titans safety Kevin Winston.

While Parsons wasn’t penalized further for his tackle, fellow Packers defender Quay Walker was hit with a $17,389 charge for an illegal “blow to the head/neck” on the quarterback. On the flip side, Cardinals linebacker Josh Sweat was fined $11,593 for a facemask.

Parsons and the Packers will now shift their focus to Week 8, eyeing a third win in a row when they head to Pennsylvania to face Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers on “Sunday Night Football.”
