Seven games of the Week 8 Sunday early slate are officially in the books, with three still to come in the late afternoon window; an NFC South showdown between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints kicks off the action.
The real magic may just be starting at 4:25, however, as the Dallas Cowboys take on the Denver Broncos. The Broncos were in full comeback mode in Week 7, scoring 33 points in the fourth quarter to sneak by the Giants, hoping to keep that momentum going Sunday. Quarterback Bo Nix scored four touchdowns, with two coming through the air and two on the ground. This Week 8 matchup could come down to whichever team has the ball last.

Broncos second-round rookie running back RJ Harvey is enjoying himself a breakout outing, scoring his first career rushing touchdown and following it up with a second one just two drives later, punching it along the goalline on a direct snap.
Bo Nix & Co. then attempted a 2-point conversion, which was unsuccessful, though the Broncos maintain a 10-point lead with just 3:47 to go in the first half.
Harvey’s first rushing touchdown of the game came in the first quarter, where he exploded for a 40-yard score.

Who doesn’t love a good revenge game?
The Dallas Cowboys signed RB Javonte Williams as a free agent in the offseason, and he wound up scoring a first-half touchdown against his former team.
Williams’ second NFL season ended early after suffering a knee injury with the Denver Broncos and never seemed to get back on track … until he found the Cowboys as a free agent in 2025. In eight games with Dallas, Williams has now exceeded his previous career-best rushing touchdown total (4) while averaging a career-high 5.3 yards per carry.

Heading into halftime, Tampa Bay feels like its lead should be bigger, after having a scoop and score fumble recovery by Antoine Winfield Jr. called back with no one hearing a whistle blown to stop the play.
The Buccaneers forced the Saints into three turnovers in the first half yet failed to capitalize fully, posting just seven first-half points. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was 6 of 9 for 50 yards passing in the first half.
New Orleans was able to move the ball, but got in their own way with the three turnovers. Spencer Rattler was 14 of 18 for 126 yards but had one interception in the first half. The Saints trail the Bucs at halftime of this NFC South matchup, 7-3.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before — Bo Nix connects with Troy Franklin for six!
With a successful extra point, the Broncos widen the gap, 14-3 over the Dallas Cowboys.
Franklin, a 2024 fourth-round pick, got off to a slow start in the league with just 263 receiving yards and three touchdowns as a rookie, but has already surpassed both of those marks now through just eight games. He and Nix were teammates at Oregon, posting 1,383 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in his final season.

It’s been a rough stretch for rookie quarterback Cam Ward, who’s thrown a pick in each of his last five games, but he’s off to a decent start in Week 8.
After punting on their opening drive, Ward and the Titans drive 69 yards down the field with the help of a chunk gain of 41 yards from RB Tyjae Spears, capping off the drive with Ward’s fifth career touchdown pass — a one-yard pass at the goal line.
The Colts continue to outpace the Titans in terms of yards and time of possession, but the touchdown is a solid step in the right direction, cutting Indy’s lead to just three points.
If Ward throws a second touchdown, it would mark his first career multi-passing touchdown game.

All Jonathan Taylor does is score touchdowns.
And he did it again in the first quarter on Sunday. On the Colts’ second possession of the game, Taylor had three runs of 15-plus yards, including this 18-yard run for the score.
With the successful extra point attempt, the Colts take a 10-0 lead over the Titans.
Taylor officially has 12 touchdowns from scrimmage this season, including three games of three-plus scrimmage touchdowns. He can make it a fourth with two more scores in Week 8.

He returns it for seven yards to set Dallas up with its first offensive possession, and the Cowboys take advantage with a 24-yard field goal to cap off the drive.
