ZT takes a look at how the winning entry claimed the top spot in the DraftKings Millionaire Maker during NFL Week 8.
Week 8 included another great 10-game slate on DraftKings for the main DFS fantasy football contests. With some very surprising upsets and comebacks, it was definitely a week where it worked out to go against the flow with some contrarian plays. In this week’s NFL $2.75M FANTASY FOOTBALL MILLIONAIRE [$1M TO 1ST], the highest-scoring entry came from Bsgolfer7, who earned 230.66 fantasy points, finishing way out in front of the rest of the field of 161,764 entries and winning by a huge margin of over 13 fantasy points.
Here’s a look at the highest-scoring entry from the Week 8 millionaire contest:

Dolphins Safe Entry
Almost no one saw the big bounce-back game for the Dolphins coming. They were crushed last week by the Browns and had what looked like a tough matchup against the Falcons. On top of that, QB Tua Tagovailoa (24.2 FPTS) was dealing with an illness that caused one of his eyes to swell almost completely shut on Sunday morning. No worries, though!
Tua had a miniscule 0.4% ownership in the Milly Maker, but he delivered in a huge way for the few managers who believed in him. He posted 205 passing yards and four touchdowns, including this long score to Jaylen Waddle (20.9 FPTS), who was also a part of Bsgolfer7’s high-scoring entry.
Big-Time Running Backs
While the top entry went with a cheap QB and fairly affordable wide receivers (more below), Bsgolfer7 paid up for three premium running backs who each delivered big games. In the early games, the entry included James Cook (36.6 FPTS) and Breece Hall (35.86 FPTS) while tacking on Jonathan Taylor (40.4 FPTS) in the late window.
Cook helped the Bills come back from their bye week and beat the Panthers by piling up an impressive 216 rushing yards. He had a pair of rushing scores as well, including this 64-yard scamper:
Hall delivered in multiple ways for the Jets and his fantasy managers. He had 133 rushing yards with two touchdowns and added 14 receiving yards on two catches. He also threw the game-winning touchdown on this trick play to contribute even more to the Jets’ first win of the season and to Bsgolfer’s big fantasy week.
The chalkiest play in the top entry was Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, who was in a smash spot against the Titans. Taylor continued his fantasy MVP season with three more touchdowns on Sunday. He had 153 rushing yards and 21 receiving yards, while scoring two touchdowns on the ground and one through the air.
Jonathan Taylor’s 2025 game logs are UNREAL

Week 2: 27 touches, 215 yards, 1 rec. TD
Week 3: 20 touches, 118 yards, 3 rush TD

Bills’ Defense Circles the Wagons
The Bills DST (17 FPTS) was another strong leverage play with under 3% ownership. They faced off with Andy Dalton and the Panthers, who were rolling before the game, but their momentum came to an abrupt halt against Buffalo. The Bills had seven sacks, three takeaways, and only allowed nine points as they snapped their own two-game losing streak.
Balanced, Contrarian Pass-Catchers
After spending up at running back, Bsgolfer7 spread things around at receiver and tight end with one bargain exception. In addition to Waddle, the entry used Michael Pittman Jr. (23.5 FPTS) at receiver, who had one of the catches of the year on his way to eight catches for 95 yards and a score against the Titans.
At tight end, the entry opted to include George Kittle (14.3 FPTS), who found the end zone against the Texans in the 49ers’ defeat. Also, it may have been National Tight Ends Day, but no one said much about it (yes, that is some heavy sarcasm font).
The bargain play that the entry included at receiver was on the other side of that matchup. With Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring) both out, the rest of the Texans’ young receivers had a chance to step up. Third-year receiver Xavier Hutchinson (17.9 FPTS) stepped up with five catches for 69 yards and a score against the Niners, as the Texans bounced back from their rough Monday night showing against the Seahawks.
The Bottom Line
This week, the top entry from Bsgolfer7 went contrarian with the Dolphins stack and paid off big time. The expensive plays at running back all delivered, and the mid-range plays at receiver came through as well. Hutchinson was another key contrarian play with his ownership percentage under 2%.
Looking ahead to Week 9, the NFL has 11 games on the main slate on Sunday afternoon. The spotlight matchup will be an AFC matchup between the Chiefs and Bills as one of the three games in the late wave. As part of the many contests on DraftKings, another Milly Maker on the board will give fantasy football players another chance to claim a million-dollar top prize for just a $20 entry in the NFL $2.75M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st].
