Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield came out on top in a matchup of former OU quarterbacks Sunday, as the Buccaneers defeated Spencer Rattler and the New Orleans Saints. Tampa Bay led 7–3 at halftime in a defensive battle before pulling ahead in the second half, 23-3.

The Buccaneers’ defense controlled the game, finishing with five sacks, two interceptions and a defensive touchdown. Mayfield threw for 152 yards without a touchdown, but the defense kept the offense from having to do much.

The win moves Tampa Bay to 6–2, maintaining a two-game lead over the Carolina Panthers (4–4) in the NFC South standings.

The Buccaneers are off next week before hosting New England on Nov. 9.
