Former undrafted free agent A.J. Woods signed to practice squad.

The Atlanta Falcons signed cornerback A.J. Woods to their 16-man practice squad, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon. Woods, a former undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh, has yet to appear in an NFL game but spent time with the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.

The Broncos released Woods from their practice squad last week. While he lacks NFL experience, Woods has enough versatility to potentially carve out a role in Atlanta.

“No matter which position I play on the back end, I’m confident that I’ll be successful,” Woods told Justin Melo of the Draft Network. “Speed, quick feet, and intelligence make me a complete player. I’m very physical for the position as well. I love playing in run support when I’m at the nickel. I can cover bigger receivers on the outside as well.”

The Falcons had one spot left on their practice squad after signing linebacker Ronnie Harrison to the 53-man roster last week. Harrison replaced linebacker Divine Deablo, who was placed on the injured reserve list.
