The return is near for Arizona Cardinals linebacker BJ Ojulari. After being out for a year and a half, he will return to practice this week.

Head coach Jonathan Gannon announced Tuesday that Ojulari will have his practice window opened, practicing for the first time on Thursday this week.

Ojulari is on the PUP (physically unable to perform) reserve. He tore his ACL in August 2024, missed all last season and did not practice all offseason.

When his practice window is opened on Thursday, he can be activated to the 53-man roster at any time during the 21 days or at its conclusion. If he is not activated, he will remain on the PUP reserve for the rest of the season.

It has been a long time coming. Fans have been waiting for his return. The former second-round pick was expected to be the team’s top pass rusher entering 2024.

If he uses the entire window, he could play in Week 12 at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
