The game of football certainly isn’t played on paper, but the Jacksonville Jaguars’ remaining strength of schedule could be an advantage for them coming out of their bye week.

Through seven games played, the Jaguars are 4-3 and have gotten to this point by navigating one of the more difficult schedules in football.

According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, the Jaguars’ strength of schedule up to this point was the third most difficult in the NFL. This includes games against San Francisco, Kansas City, Seattle, and the LA Rams — matchups that Jacksonville would go 2-2 in.

However, looking ahead, the Jaguars’ remaining strength of schedule ranks 27th in the NFL — or another way to put it, this is the sixth easiest.

Of the Jaguars’ final 10 games, only four come against teams with winning records, while five games include opponents with two or fewer wins at this point.

Again, this is something that could be advantageous for Jacksonville, but no game is a given in the NFL.

The Jaguars are currently the eighth seed in the AFC playoff race — just on the outside looking in.

Coming out of the bye week strong starts with minimizing the self-inflicted errors that have occurred throughout the season, along with improving in these four areas.
