The Buffalo Bills just got a bit healthier recently as the team recently had their bye week off in Week 7.

Then in Week 8, the Bills (5-2) got back to winning ways but routing the Carolina Panthers (4-4) in a 40-9 final.

A welcomed victory after two-straight losses did not come without bad news.

Star defensive tackle Ed Oliver exited the game with an injury which has proven to be of the long-term variety.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Oliver sustained a torn bicep injury and will be out indefinitely:

During the game, Oliver was quickly ruled out. Oliver has since been placed on injured reserve by the Bills. In sitting out, Oliver joins DaQuan Jones (calf) on the team’s list of hurt players that have not played recently. That means both of Buffalo’s starting defensive tackles are injured.

Without that duo, in addition to injured rookie TJ Sanders, the Bills will lean on Larry Ogunjobi, Deone Walker and Jordan Phillips in the middle of their D-line.

Oliver’s timetable is likely most of the season, potentially a return in the postseason could be on the table.
