Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson and his wife, Jessica, on Sept. 5 sold their four-bedroom, 3,940-square-foot house in the Detroit suburb of Plymouth, Mich. for their $1.1 million asking price.

In January, Johnson, 39, was announced as the Bears’ 19th head coach in the team’s history, after previously serving as an assistant coach for six years for the Detroit Lions. In March, Ben and Jessica Johnson paid $3.25 million for a six-bedroom, 6,227-square-foot mansion in Lake Forest, not far from the Bears’ Halas Hall headquarters and offices.

In Michigan, the Johnsons paid $825,000 in 2021 for the house in Plymouth, which was built in 2017 and sits on a very small, 0.17-acre lot. The house has four full bathrooms, hardwood floors, solid eight-foot molded doors, crown moldings, custom built-ins and a great room with beamed ceiling accents and a gas fireplace.

Other features include a dining room with custom built-ins and “sophisticated trim details,” according to listing information, while the kitchen has premium cabinetry, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and a large center island. The house also has a newly finished basement and a first-floor office/guest room with a custom built-in Murphy bed, while the second floor has a primary bedroom suite with a tray ceiling, two walk-in closets and a bathroom with a double vanity.

Outdoor features include a large front porch with a wood ceiling, an attached two-car garage and a fenced yard.

The Johnsons first listed the home on July 17 and found a buyer about three weeks later.

Via a text message, the Johnsons’ listing agent, Eddie Mallad, declined to comment on the listing.

The house had a $17,757 property tax bill in the 2024 tax year.
