Lamar Jackson sounds like he will return to action on Thursday when the Baltimore Ravens take on the Miami Dolphins.

The Ravens quarterback has missed the past three games with a hamstring injury he suffered Sept. 28 during a Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. On Tuesday, he sounded more than ready ahead of his first full practice in weeks.

“Can’t wait to touch the grass with my guys, man,” he said Tuesday after he was a “full” participant in Ravens practice. “It’s been a while.”

Jackson said his hamstring feels “great” and that he doesn’t feel rusty.

“Nah, that’s what practice is for,” he said. “I felt like we had a great day today. We’ll execute tomorrow, and then come Thursday night just fly.”

Are the Dallas Cowboys going to be active prior to next week’s NFL trade deadline? Owner Jerry Jones said that he’s exploring all options to help his defense.

“If there is a trade that would help the defense, we’re in position to make that trade,” Jones said. “[It] doesn’t mean we’re going to make one, but we certainly had in mind when we started this season that we were going to have ammo to be more flexible in terms of what we do with the roster as we move along this year, and of course as we get into the next couple of years.”

Meanwhile, even as the San Francisco 49ers’ injury woes slightly improve, there are still questions around quarterback Brock Purdy’s return. Purdy returned to practice last week, but was still limited, and it’s unclear whether he’ll be back to full strength this week. Backup Mac Jones is doing his best in the meantime, but he wasn’t able to lift San Francisco to a win over the Texans, settling for a 26-15 loss in Houston.

Surtain II suffered a pectoral strain during Sunday’s win over the Cowboys. He’s expected to miss multiple weeks, but according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport the Broncos may not place the cornerback on injured reserve with the thought he could return in three weeks.

Surtain left the game with a leg injury in the first half, but was able to return. He then suffered the pectoral injury on a hit before halftime that sidelined him for the rest of the game. He strained his left arm while attempting to tackle Cowboys receiver George Pickens after a pass completion and got up from the play in clear discomfort while holding the left side of his chest.

Oliver tore his right biceps on Sunday against the Panthers. He underwent surgery this week and will be out indefinitely.

“… It’s unfortunate. He’s playing well when he was playing, he was impacting games at a high level. … But like always we’ll adjust, we’ll move on. I feel terrible for him, but he’ll be back, he’ll be ready to roll whenever that time is,” said Bills defensive coordinator Bobby Babich on Monday.

The New York Giants held a big group workout/tryout on Tuesday, and former Pittsburgh Steelers third-round wideout Diontae Johnson was part of it. Johnson played in 12 games last season across three NFL teams, including Carolina, Baltimore, and Houston.

Johnson was traded from Pittsburgh to Carolina following a contract dispute and lasted just seven games with the Panthers. He was then traded to Baltimore, where he played four games with the Ravens and was then waived by the team after he refused to enter a game. The Washington Commanders fell 28-7 to the Kansas City Chiefs on “Monday Night Football” and to 3-5 on the season. But, on the bright side, they could have their starting quarterback in the lineup this week.

Jayden Daniels, who missed the Chiefs game with a hamstring injury, is expected to return to practice this week, according to Commanders head coach Dan Quinn, who told reporters that the second-year signal-caller had a good rehab session on Sunday.

Daniels didn’t practice all last week after leaving a Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys early with a low-grade hamstring strain.
