The Titans will open the 2025 season on the road against a team that made the playoffs last year.
Tennessee will face the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High on Sept. 7 at 3:05 CT on FOX Sports, per the network’s Jordan Schultz.
The contest is likely to match Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, against Denver quarterback Bo Nix, one of the top rookie quarterbacks of the 2024 season.
The Titans’ entire 2025 schedule is set to be released Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT (ESPN2, NFL Network).
Denver’s defense will prove an immediate test for the Titans’ retooled offensive line.
The Broncos led the league with 63 sacks last season, as Nik Bonitto totaled a team-high 13.5, followed by Jonathan Cooper (10.5) and Zach Allen (8.5).
Tennessee and Denver also met in the teams’ 2020 season opener, when the visiting Titans prevailed 16-14 on a Stephen Gostkowski field goal with 17 seconds remaining. Gostkowski had missed his previous three attempts as well as an extra point.
One year earlier, the Titans had lost 16-0 to Denver, a game memorable because it marked former coach Mike Vrabel’s decision to replace starting quarterback Marcus Mariota with Ryan Tannehill at halftime.
The teams last met in 2022, with the Titans posting a 17-10 win at Nissan Stadium.
Denver surprised many last season by reaching the playoffs behind Nix, who was the sixth quarterback selected in the draft and the 12th overall pick.
Under the guidance of coach Sean Payton, Nix completed 66.3 percent of his passes, throwing for 3,775 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. His 93.3 quarterback rating ranked 18th, just above the league average of 92.3.
The Broncos won five of their final seven regular-season games to finish with a 10-7 record last year, earning a wildcard playoff berth before falling 31-7 at Buffalo.
The Titans will have to concern themselves with Denver wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who produced 81 catches for 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns last year. Wide receiver Marvin Mims added 39 receptions for 503 yards and six touchdowns.
The Broncos added tight end Evan Engram via free agency and drafted running back RJ Harvey out of the University of Central Florida in the second round.
