The first image of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye handing the ball off to rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson emerged on social media on Tuesday.
Henderson, a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft, is expected to play a key role in the Patriots’ offense right out of the gates. Former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski even went as far saying the former Ohio State standout could potentially challenge Rhamondre Stevenson for the starting job on Day 1.

There’s no denying that Henderson is a potential home run threat every time the ball is in his hands. That kind of elite playmaking ability has been missing from New England’s offense for years.
There’s hope it could be returning with Henderson in the backfield.
Henderson could take some of the pressure off Maye with his explosive playmaking abilities. He should also be a weapon in the passing game as a receiver and pass protector.
The addition of Henderson, Stefon Diggs and Kyle Williams, along with the offensive line improvements, should give Maye and the Patriots a chance to compete in 2025.
