The Miami Dolphins continue to add bodies into the mix on the defensive line.
The Dolphins claimed defensive tackle Matthew Butler off waivers from the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, the team announced.
In a corresponding move, they waived undrafted rookie defensive tackle Tre’vonn Rybka.
Butler has appeared in 15 career games with one start in three seasons with the Raiders, recording 15 tackles and half a sack.
At 6 foot 3, 290 pounds, Butler will compete among a defensive line group that added three drafted rookies at the end of April.
Miami selected Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant with the No. 13 pick in the first round. The Dolphins later picked Maryland’s Jordan Phillips and Georgia Tech’s Zeek Biggers in the fifth and seventh rounds, respectively.
The defensive line returns its anchor in veteran Zach Sieler, who is coming off back-to-back 10-sack seasons. The team also re-signed Benito Jones and Matt Dickerson but lost Calais Campbell and Da’Shawn Hand in free agency.
Butler entered the league as a fifth-round pick of Las Vegas out of Tennessee.
Rybka’s time with the Dolphins was short-lived after participating in rookie minicamp over the last weekend.
