In Week 8, the New York Giants suffered a massive blow when rookie running back Cam Skattebo went down with a gruesome ankle injury. He will miss the rest of the season after what had been an impressive first season in the NFL.
Skattebo has been a football favorite since his days at Arizona State in college. He brings an aggressive running style to the gridiron and was a big part of helping the Giants be a much more competitive football team in recent weeks.
Unfortunately, injuries can put a quick halt to a players success. Skattebo will now have to focus on rehabbing and working his way back to the field rather than helping New York win football games.

With that being said, Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce recently took some time to speak out and share heartfelt words about Skattebo and the injury he suffered.

During an appearance on the “New Heights” podcast, Kelce opened up with his thoughts on the matter.
“Obviously, one of the biggest storylines in the NFL is Skattebo had a pretty aggressive ankle injury,” Kelce said. “Sending all the love to him. Hopefully, he can get back. The NFL absolutely loves a [expletive] like that. Just a tough as nails dude. Hopefully, he gets back in tip-top shape.”
Kelce didn’t stop there, he continued on and talked more with glowing praise about Skattebo.
“Nobody wants to see one of the most-loved players in the league get hurt like that,” he said. “Obviously, what that guy’s meant to football the past couple of weeks has been pretty [expletive] fun to watch. So hopefully he gets back healthy and back to running dudes over and being the epitome of a [expletive] NFL football player.”
Now that Skattebo’s rookie year has come to an end, he finishes with 101 carries for 410 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 4.1 yards per carry, while also catching 24 passes for 207 yards and two more touchdowns.
