Thursday didn’t provide much clarity regarding Kyler Murray’s playing status for Monday night’s Cowboys-Cardinals matchup.

The Arizona Cardinals listed Murray as limited in Thursday’s practice with a foot injury. Murray, an Allen product, has missed Arizona’s last two games due to injury.

Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon spoke with reporters about Murray’s status Thursday, saying the team’s plan was to get the quarterback “fully healthy.” Murray got an extra week of rest during Arizona’s scheduled bye.

Gannon added that there was no benefit to waiting to name a starter later in the week.

With Murray out, the Cardinals turned to Jacoby Brissett as the team’s QB1. Brissett has thrown for 599 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in Murray’s absence.

Arizona could benefit from a Murray return in Week 9. The former Allen star owns an 8-0 record at AT&T Stadium. He won five games at the venue as a high schooler, then led Oklahoma to a Big 12 title win in 2018. At the professional level, Murray has guided Arizona to two victories in Arlington.

Murray was reportedly scheduled to meet with reporters after Thursday’s practice, but the team moved its quarterback availability to later in the week.

Murray has appeared in five games this season, throwing for 962 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. He has also posted 29 carries for 173 yards and one score on the ground.
