Cincinnati Bengals postgame wrap| What went wrong in loss to Jets

Enquirer beat writer Kelsey Conway breaks down what went wrong in the Bengals’ loss to the Jets on Oct. 26.

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Oct. 30 that they signed linebacker Liam Anderson to the practice squad.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Anderson was signed by the Indianapolis Colts as a college free agent from the College of the Holy Cross in 2023.

Anderson played in four games for the Colts over his first two NFL seasons. He was not with an NFL team through the first eight weeks of this season.

What to know about the 25-year-old Anderson:

Anderson signed as an undrafted free agent after playing five seasons for the Crusaders

He was a team captain and all-Patriot League first-team selection as a fifth-year senior in 2022, and received an invitation to the Hula Bowl.

Anderson spent most of his first two seasons on the Colts’ practice squad. He was waived by the Colts in August.

A New Jersey native, Anderson played quarterback in high school

At Mount Olive High School, Anderson passed for 3,220 yards and rushed for 1,686 yards, with 52 passing and rushing touchdowns combined.

He also played defense, and had 97 tackles and eight interceptions.

Anderson also lettered in baseball and basketball, earning first-team all-conference honors in baseball.

Liam’s mother, Amanda Anderson, is from Tipp City, Ohio, about 70 miles from Cincinnati.

Like Anderson, longtime Bengals offensive lineman Bruce Kozerski starred at Holy Cross

The Bengals selected Kozerski out of Holy Cross in the ninth round of the 1984 NFL draft.

Kozerski played in 172 games over 12 NFL seasons, all with the Bengals, between 1984 and 1995.

Kozerski was the head football coach at Holy Cross High School in Covington for more than 20 years before retiring after the 2023 season.
