The Commanders are expected to have several prime-time games in 2025. We took a stab at predicting which games would be in prime time. Of the two announced games, the Washington-Philadelphia game is on a Saturday and is a prime candidate to be played under the lights.

Who will the Commanders open the season against? We do know it will not be the Cowboys or Eagles. We make our final predictions for Washington’s entire 2025 schedule:

Week 1: Bears at Commanders: Sunday Night FootballLANDOVER, MARYLAND - OCTOBER 27: Caleb Williams #18 of the Chicago Bears reacts after being sacked by Jer'Zhan Newton #95 of the Washington Commanders during the first quarter at Northwest Stadium on October 27, 2024 in Landover, Maryland. Why not kick off Washington’s season with a bang? These two teams met in the famous Hail Mary game last season. The Bears want revenge. And this will be the second meeting between the first two picks of the 2024 NFL draft: Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels. This game belongs in prime time.

The second-best rookie in last season’s phenomenal QB class was Bo Nix — not Williams. It’s only fitting that these two young passers are in prime time.

It’s good that Washington added reinforcements to the offensive line with Maxx Crosby coming to town. The new-look Raiders will also look much different on offense with QB Geno Smith and rookie RB Ashton Jeanty.

Week 9: Commanders at Cowboys: Thursday Night FootballJan 7, 2024; Landover, Maryland, USA; Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) carries the ball against the Washington Commanders during the second half at FedExField. Mandatory Credit: Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

Week 11: Commanders at Dolphins in Madrid, Spain

This one is official. The Commanders play their first international game since 2016. It’s the first-ever NFL regular-season game in Spain.

Week 12: BYE

A rematch of the NFC Divisional Round, where the Commanders shocked the Lions. What happens this time around? These teams combined for 76 points in January and will be a fun MNF shootout.

Week 16: Eagles at Commanders (Saturday)

Another official one. These teams meet three weeks apart, similar to recent seasons. Last year, the Eagles won the first meeting in November, while the Commanders won the December rematch. This game is on a Saturday and you’d have to think it will be another prime-time game.

Week 17: Commanders at Packers: Merry ChristmasGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) grabs his leg after running the ball against the Minnesota Vikings during their football game Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
