LOS ANGELES — In a groundbreaking move to kick off the 2025 NFL season, the league announced that YouTube will exclusively stream the Week 1 matchup in São Paulo, Brazil to a worldwide audience — live and free. The game, set for Friday night, Sept. 5 at Corinthians Arena, marks the first time an NFL regular season game will be broadcast solely on YouTube.
The Los Angeles Chargers will serve as the designated team for the historic international game. Their opponent will be revealed on Wednesday, May 14, when the full 2025 NFL schedule is released, but several reports have them playing the Kansas City Chiefs.
The streaming partnership is part of an expanded multi-year deal between the NFL and YouTube, which also includes continued collaboration on the Super Bowl Flag Football Game featuring creators and music artists, as well as additional international flag football showcases.
“This marks YouTube’s first time as a live NFL game broadcaster,” said Mary Ellen Coe, YouTube’s chief business officer. “We’re excited to offer a free, interactive viewing experience for fans around the world.”
The game will also air on free, over-the-air TV in the local markets of the participating teams, per NFL policy.
YouTube has been the home of NFL Sunday Ticket since 2023 and boasts more than 14 million subscribers on the league’s official channel.
