The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are currently dealing with a litany of injuries and will likely continue to do so after their bye week, which is scheduled for this time next week. However, there are some moves they could make, as it is shaping up to be a very active trade deadline for a handful of teams. The Buccaneers have a general manager in Jason Licht, who is usually pretty conservative in his roster building.

However, a swing for the fences could jolt this team into the stratosphere.

One move that a group of ESPN insiders, such as Jeremy Fowler, believes could make sense is for the team to pursue Baker Mayfield’s college tight end, Mark Andrews. The Pro Bowl tight end is seemingly losing favor in the Ravens offense, which could make him expendable and a value for someone like Tampa Bay.

Fowler writes, “The Bucs will do their due diligence but typically are not active at the deadline. They could use help because of injuries, either along the defensive front or at an offensive skill position. A fun link: Baker Mayfield is close friends with Ravens tight end Mark Andrews, who’s in a contract year for a losing team.”

The team has been tied to several names that could be available during the upcoming trade deadline, but as we mentioned, the Bucs are infamously happy staying put during the season. Perhaps the team doing as well as it is will be enough to make Licht make a move, but only time will tell.
