As Halloween turns into November, the NFL honored its best and brightest for October on Thursday.
Here are the players who were named the Defensive Players of the Month for their respective conferences.

AFC: Marcus Jones (New England Patriots)
The New England Patriots are for real. For the first time since their dynasty ended almost a decade ago, the fans believe their empire might be being rebuilt right in front of their eyes. While Drake Maye has gotten a lot of the attention at the quarterback role, Marcus Jones has been a revelation at corner. Initially heralded for his punt return skills and talent on special teams, Jones has established himself as a star at every level of the defense, with 20 tackles, two interceptions, and even a sack for good measure.
NFC: Micah Parsons (Green Bay Packers)
Who didn’t expect this? When it was announced during the offseason that the Dallas Cowboys were trading arguably the best defender in the league, Parsons, to the Green Bay Packers, the expectation was that he’d help level up a young Packers team. He’s done just that in the tundra of Wisconsin, as the Packers have only dropped one game on the season and are a favorite to make a deep run in January. In October, he recorded four sacks in only four games and anchored a hungry, evolving defense. It also doesn’t hurt that the team he left in Dallas has fallen off a cliff defensively, looking for any help possible to keep other teams from taking up residence in their endzone.
