The Arizona Cardinals made a couple of moves on the practice squad on Thursday ahead of their first day of practice in Week 9, getting ready for the Dallas Cowboys. They released cornerback Jaden Davis from the practice squad and signed two players they brought in Wednesday for tryouts.
They added receiver Jalen Brooks and tight end Messiah Swinson.

Brooks was one of four receivers who were in the building to try out. He is 6-2 and 205 pounds. He was drafted in the seventh round by the Dallas Cowboys in 2023. He was on the Cowboys’ practice squad earlier this season and released with an injury waiver last week.
Swinson went undrafted out of Arizona State in 2024. He is 6-7 and 259 pounds. He has been on practice squads.
Both moves are probably to have players on the scout team that more resemble the players on the Cowboys. Receivers George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb ar both at least 6-foot-2. With Brooks and receiver Tejhaun Palmer, they now have two big-bodied receivers to run scout team. Andre Baccellia, the other receiver on the practice squad, is 5-10.
