Could help at the cornerback position be on the way in Week 9 for the Indianapolis Colts?

Jaylon Jones, who was a full participant in all three practices this week, is officially listed as questionable for the Colts‘ Sunday matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Will Colts’ CB Jaylon Jones play in Week 9 vs. Steelers?

When it comes to Jones potentially being activated from injured reserve, head coach Shane Steichen said on Friday, “We’ll see how it goes.”

Jones returned to the practice field last Wednesday ahead of the Colts’ Week 8 game with Tennessee. Before that, he had been on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1.

Jones also worked through a hamstring injury that sidelined him for much of training camp.

If available this week, it would be Jones’ first game action since the season opener.

The Colts continue to navigate numerous injuries at cornerback this season. Having Jones back in the mix will provide the defense with some much-needed depth at cornerback.

With Charvarius Ward on injured reserve, the Colts have relied heavily on Mekhi Blackmon, along with undrafted rookie Johnathan Edwards and Cameron Mitchell, who is currently on the practice squad, to fill the outside cornerback roles.

If Jones can go this week, it still remains to be seen how big of a role he will have after missing so much time.

Along with Jones’ status being up in the air, the same goes for defensive tackle Grover Stewart.
