There hasn’t been any bad news about Saquon Barkley’s groin injury which is obviously good news for the Eagles.

Injuries are always tricky. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different. These bodies we have are like machines, or like a car engine. The slightest tweaks could lead us down paths to identifying several hundred diagnoses. Following a dash down the right sideline during the Philadelphia Eagles‘ Week 9 triumph, Saquon Barkley pulled up gingerly. He jogged off the field under his own power, but he immediately traveled to the blue medical tent.

His day was over, but he seemed in good spirits. Everyone just assumed that he hadn’t been given any bad news, but you know what curiosity does to cats. It’s even worse when humans realize that something has captured their interest.

We weren’t satisfied with Barkley’s smile on the sideline. Media members converged on his locker, but his explanation wasn’t totally satisfying. He seemed convinced that he was okay, but also harbored some concern. Voila! Just like that, he had become the most discussed groin in the Delaware Valley, but if you’re looking for an update, you’re problem is going to be pleased with what’s floating around.

Ian Rapoport and other insiders continue to report that Saquon Barkley is progressing favorably.

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is trending positively coming off a minor groin injury. The feeling right now is that he should be in a good spot after the bye week.”

Well, that’s good news, and that comes from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. He and Dan Graziano cooperatively reported some intriguing findings on their recent investigation into the latest NFL Week 9 buzz, trade deadline questions, and news. Not to be outdone, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport added a pair of cents to the Saquon Barkley discussion.

He, as he often does, appeared on Good Morning Football earlier in the week. He verifies that Barkley would have returned had Philadelphia needed him late in Week 9. That adds to every other standard theory that the Eagles’ star running back’s injury isn’t serious.

This is what the bye week is for. The Eagles find themselves in the same position they were in last year after eight games, with a 6-2 record, but this is a much more enjoyable bye week than the one we endured last season.

Guys are getting healthy, not just Barkley, but also players like Nolan Smith and A.J. Brown. This could be a solid second half of the season once the Birds get the band back together.
