The New York Giants (2-6) will take on the San Francisco 49ers (5-3) on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium in their ninth game of the 2025 regular season.

Opening the week, the Giants were listed as 2.5-point home underdogs, which is where the spread remains as of this writing.

How does the Giants Wire staff see this Week 9 battle shaking out? Here’s a look at our picks and score predictions.

Dan Benton: 49ers 23, Giants 20

You could fill an entire NFL roster with the players who are already on injured reserve (IR) or are otherwise banged up entering this game. That levels the playing field a bit, and the Giants will have the advantage of travel and weather, with San Francisco coming over from the much-warmer West Coast. Still, the struggling Giants’ defense will likely have no answer for Christian McCaffrey, who will give the 49ers a significant boost in a low-scoring game.

John Fennelly: Giants 20, 49ers 19

The Giants have been very good at home since Jaxson Dart took over, and the Niners have not been scoring much this season. Expecting a low-scoring game between these two banged-up teams, so let’s give this one to Big Blue as they’ll likely dedicate it to Cam Skattebo.

Tyler Henry: Giants 27, 49ers 23

I have a weird feeling that the Giants are going to come out motivated in front of the home crowd at MetLife Stadium. The 49ers may somehow be haunted by injuries more than the Giants. I expect the defensive line to have a strong game, and the Giants find a way to gut it out in the end.
