With the NFL trade deadline approaching, SI’s NFL insider Albert Breer shared everything he’s hearing around the league, and included were a few nuggets on the Indianapolis Colts.

Breer would note that the Colts, along with the Vikings, are among the list of teams searching for cornerback help.

This, of course, doesn’t come as a surprise with the depth of that position group being put to the test this season.

However, Breer also added that the market “isn’t rich with options.” This could obviously make getting a deal done a lot more challenging.

The Colts are also in the market for an edge defender, which again, isn’t a surprise to hear. Other reports have suggested the same as Indianapolis searches for more pass-rush juice opposite of Laiatu Latu.

But one new bit of information from Breer is that teams “have called to inquire on the Colts’ own surplus of wide receivers,” he wrote.

This is a very deep position group for the Colts, which includes 2024 second-round draft pick, AD Mitchell, currently at the bottom of the depth with minimal playing time coming his way following the touchdown-turned-fumble in LA.

According to Breer, “a wideout could end up being a chip for them in a trade.”

But the Colts moving on from Mitchell or Ashton Dulin, for that matter, doesn’t seem like a move GM Chris Ballard would make, particularly with Mitchell still being so early in his NFL career.
