The New York Giants will host wide receiver Gabe Davis for a meeting in East Rutherford on Wednesday, but it won’t be a traditional free agent visit, reports the New York Post.
Davis will reunite with general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll, who were together with the Buffalo Bills from 2020-2021.

Davis fits the attributes the Giants are looking for. He has size (6’2″, 225 lbs.) and can make plays down the field. He could be the perfect complement to the Giants’ other wideouts.
Davis had a down season in Jacksonville last year after a four-year stint with the Bills. He only had 20 receptions in the 10 games he played with the Jags before tearing his meniscus in November. Rather than wait to see how he recovers from surgery, the Jags, who have a slew of young receivers on their roster, decided to waive Davis.
The Giants are an obvious destination. Remember that Davis is well-schooled in the Daboll way and caught 163 passes for 2,730 yards with 27 touchdowns. The eye-popping stats though is his yards per catch (16.7). The Giants need another big play wideout to pair with Malik Nabers.
Back in 2023, Schoen was asked what he saw in Davis when he was the Bills assistant general manager.

“He was off the charts the way he learned, the ability to move him around, his work ethic, checked all those boxes,” Schoen said.
If signed, Davis will join the wide receiver room with a working understanding of Daboll’s offensive system.
