Wisconsin football extended an offer to three-star class of 2026 cornerback Khmari Bing on Tuesday.

Despite committing to the Maryland Terrapins‘ program in August 2024, Bing has received several offers during the 2025 window. Since his commitment, the 6-foot, 180-pound cornerback has landed offers from Florida State, UConn, Kentucky, Miami (Florida) and now Wisconsin. As of May 14, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida and Auburn are also featured on his offer sheet.

The St. Frances Academy product is 247Sports’ No. 996 overall recruit in the class of 2026, No. 91 cornerback and No. 22 prospect from Maryland. On3, meanwhile, lists him as the No. 84 safety in the class and No. 19 player from Maryland, reflecting his versatility in the defensive backfield.

While Bing did commit to Mike Locksley’s program last summer, he could be on the move before he begins his first season of college football next fall. On3’s recruiting prediction machine still considers the Terrapins the slight favorite at 12.1%, but Penn State (10.6%), Virginia Tech (9.1%), Miami (7.6%) and Tennessee (7.6%) are also in the mix.

The Badgers have officially joined the race for Bing as well. Luke Fickell’s class of 2026 currently features a total of seven commitments, three of whom line up on the defensive end — three-star cornerback Carsen Eloms, three-star linebacker Aden Reeder and three-star defensive lineman Carmelow Reed.

The program currently holds the No. 38 ranking nationally at this stage of the cycle. It is in pursuit of its third straight offseason in the top 25. With Fickell, who possesses a strong recruiting profile, at the helm, that No. 38 should certainly rise. While flipping a player like Bing won’t single-handedly alter the class’ standing, it would serve as an encouraging signal for the status of the program’s recruiting capabilities.

The Badgers have received five class of 2026 commitments – Reed, Reeder, Eloms, tackle Maddox Cochrane and quarterback Ryan Hopkins – dating back to April 8.
