Jayden Daniels is set to return for the Washington Commanders when the Seattle Seahawks come to town for Sunday Night Football in Week 9.
Daniels left Washington’s Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys with a hamstring injury and missed last week’s primetime blowout in Kansas City, and is healthy in time to face one of the NFL’s best defenses in the Seahawks. On the offensive side, Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba have formed one of the best QB-WR tandems in the NFL this season.
Let’s get into the three best bets for Sunday night’s matchup.
Washington Commanders +3 (-115)
After going to the NFC Championship game last year for the first time since 1991, the Commanders’ 2025 season has been nothing short of an injury-marred disappointment.
Daniels, Terry McLaurin and other key starters have missed time and the defense has become one of the NFL’s worst.
With expectations at a low point and Daniels returning from injury, I am backing the Commanders in a buy-low spot to cover a field goal spread at home.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba 100+ Receiving Yards (-110)
Smith-Njigba has emerged as one of the top wide receivers in the NFL this season. The Ohio State product is having his way with opposing secondaries, and his connection with QB Sam Darnold is growing week-on-week.
Despite ranking fourth in targets and sixth in receptions, Smith-Njigba currently has 99 more receiving yards (819) than the second-highest number in the NFL (Ja’Marr Chase, 720).
Against a weak Washington defense that allows the 7th-most passing yards per game in 2025, Smith-Njigba can record his fourth straight game with at least 100 receiving yards.
Zach Charbonnet Anytime Touchdown (+110)
Charbonnet is in constant competition with fellow running back Kenneth Walker for touches, and predicting each back’s total carries and yards can be difficult week-to-week.
What does seem to be certain, however, is Seattle’s reliance on Charbonnet at the goal line. Since Week 3, Walker (56 carries, 267 rushing yards) has been the man to help the Seahawks get down the field before Charbonnet (45 carries, 148 yards, 4 TD) punches it in.
If the Seahawks get a look at the goal line on Sunday night, Charbonnet should be the one tasked with finding the end zone.
