The NFL trade deadline is approaching and Dolphins pass rusher had his most productive season playing for Eagles’ DC Vic Fangio when he was in Miami
The NFL trade deadline is just three days away, and the Eagles are very interested in adding Dolphins pass rusher Jaelan Phillips. The scenario just got even more intriguing after the Dolphins and GM Chris Grier decided to mutually part ways hours after a 28-6 Miami loss to Baltimore on Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football.
Among their trade candidates that Philadelphia could covet are Phillips, pass rusher Bradley Chubb, and pass rusher Matthew Judon. Phillips makes the most sense and had his best and most productive season playing for Vic Fangio in Miami.
NFL insider Cameron Wolfe reports that Philadelphia would love to reunite Phillips and Fangio at the right price.
Philadelphia Eagles would like to trade for Dolphins EDGE Jaelan Phillips at right price, per sources.
I’m told Vic Fangio thinks highly of Phillips from their year together in Miami (2023). He would help fill Eagles need for another pass rusher. https://t.co/caQ1AcRata

During that 2023 stretch with Fangio, Phillips notched 6.5 sacks in only eight games with six starts after previously posting 8.5 and seven-sack seasons as a rookie and second-year player.
Phillips is a talented player who has dealt with injuries but has been impactful when healthy. Phillips has played all nine games this season, generating three sacks, seven QB hits, and 25 tackles.
