The Denver Broncos have released an updated depth chart ahead of Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.

Of note, quarterback Sam Ehlinger was released from the active roster to make room for linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who is back this week after serving a one-game suspension. Apart from that, there are no notable changes to the depth chart this week.

The Broncos elevated tight end Marcedes Lewis and wide receiver Michael Bandy from the practice squad to the game-day roster on Saturday, so their spots on the depth chart are projected.

Fans should also note that while this depth chart comes straight from the team, the Broncos still call it an “unofficial” depth chart, and it should be taken with a grain of salt. It’s roughly a reflection of how coach Sean Payton stacks up each position, but there are clearly a few exceptions.

Quarterback (2)

Bo Nix enters Year 2 looking to build on his promising rookie season.

Running back (4)

Denver also has Deuce Vaughn available on the practice squad.

Tight end/fullback (4)TE1: Evan EngramTE2: Adam TrautmanTE3: Nate AdkinsTE4: Marcedes Lewis (practice squad elevation)FB: Adam Prentice

Lucas Krull (foot) is already on injured reserve, and Adkins now has a knee injury.

Wide receiver (5)

Sutton and Franklin have been the top two receivers this season. Mims is currently in the NFL’s concussion protocol, so Bandy was called up from the practice squad.

Offensive line (8)LT: Garett Bolles, Frank CrumLG: Alex Palczewski, Calvin ThrockmortonC: Luke Wattenberg, Alex ForsythRG: Quinn Meinerz, Alex PalczewskiRT: Mike McGlinchey, Frank Crum

Palczewski is also listed as the backup right guard despite starting at left guard. In reality, if Denver needed another guard to step in, Throckmorton would presumably be the top backup for both spots.

Defensive line (7)DE: Zach Allen, Jordan JacksonDT: D.J. Jones, Malcolm RoachDE: John Franklin-Myers, Eyioma Uwazurike, Sai’vion Jones

Roach is perhaps one of the best “backup” defensive linemen in the NFL.

Outside linebacker (5)

Robinson appeared in two games when Elliss was sidelined, but the rookie has otherwise been a healthy scratch this season.

Inside linebacker (4)

Greenlaw is back from suspension and right back into his starting role.

Cornerback (5)

Surtain is expected to miss several weeks with a pectoral injury. Barron is listed as the backup behind Surtain, but Abrams-Draine played in that spot when PS2 left Sunday’s game.

Safety (6)

After joining the team two weeks ago, Gray is yet to make his Denver debut.

Special teams (3)K: Wil LutzP: Jeremy Crawshaw LS: Mitchell FraboniKR: Marvin Mims, Jaleel McLaughlin, Tyler BadiePR: Marvin Mims, Riley Moss

RJ Harvey still isn’t listed as a backup returner on the depth chart despite returning 12 kickoffs for 264 yards this season.
