How realistic are UW Huskies’ CFP chances? Here’s a breakdown

After weeks of falling just shy, the Huskies finally cracked the top 25 in the latest Associated Press college football poll. UW checked in at No. 24, marking the first time its been ranked since finishing the 2023 season No. 2 following a loss to Michigan in the national title game.

The 6-2 Huskies’ debut in the 2025 rankings comes after a bye week. They received 110 points in the poll and were the only newcomer in the top 25.

UW, which is 3-2 in Big Ten play, was the third team out of the rankings a week ago.

The Huskies have a favorable schedule to build on their ranking before their season finale at home against sixth-ranked Oregon. Their next three games are at 2-6 Wisconsin, at home against 2-7 Purdue and at 3-5 UCLA. They face Wisconsin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The Huskies are one of six ranked teams in the Big Ten, joining No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Indiana, No. 6 Oregon, No. 20 USC and No. 21 Michigan.

The SEC leads the country with nine ranked teams.
