The Jacksonville Jaguars are now 5-3 on the season, following a post-bye week road victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Now, after having had the opportunity to rewatch Sunday’s overtime win, let’s take a look back at the good, the bad, and the ugly from the Jaguars’ performance.

The good from Jaguars vs. Raiders

Leaning into the run game: In the Liam Coen offense, being able to lean into the running game is vital. In recent weeks, however, with the Jaguars trailing early, the offense hasn’t necessarily been able to do that. But on Sunday, Jacksonville ran the ball 42 times, and while it was tough sledding at times, that commitment to the ground game allowed the Jaguars to total 151 rushing yards and score three touchdowns.

Jaguars’ 3rd and 4th down offense: The Jaguars were very good on these critical downs, converting 12 of their 19 opportunities. This, of course, allowed the offense to stay on the field by extending drives. It’s not a coincidence that the third and fourth down offense was very good, while running the ball was an obvious emphasis. Moving the ball on the ground helped keep the offense in manageable down and distances.

Jaguars’ run defense: On the flip side, the Jaguars’ run defense held their own in this game. Raiders’ running back Ashton Jeanty averaged only 3.2 yards per carry while the Las Vegas offense totaled just 57 yards on the ground.

Cam Little: Going into the bye week, Little was only 10-for-14 on field goal attempts. But in this game, he was critical to the Jaguars winning this game, which includes making the game-tying field goal at the end of regulation — and oh yeah — he also set a new NFL record by making a 68-yard attempt. Little finished the game 3-for-3 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points.

The bad from the Jaguars vs. Raiders

No answers for Brock Bowers: Alright, look, not many teams have an answer for Brock Bowers. Containing the All-Pro tight end is a very difficult task. But it was Bowers’ production that nearly led the Raiders to victory, as he hauled in 12 receptions for 127 yards with three touchdowns.

Penalties: This continues to be a weekly talking point for this Jaguars team. Jacksonville was penalized nine times for 80 yards. For some context, the 9.3 penalties per game that Jacksonville is averaging this season is the highest mark in the NFL.

The ugly in Jaguars vs. Raiders

Travon Walker getting ejected: In the second half, Walker was ejected for throwing a punch. In a close game, Jacksonville was without one of its best defenders down the stretch because of a costly mistake by Walker.
