The Houston Texans’ season feels over and it’s only Nov. 2.

With C.J. Stroud leaving in the second quarter, Houston’s offense was underwhelming and failed to find the end zone while Bo Nix scored two touchdown passes en route to a Denver Broncos 18-15 victory over the Texans at NRG Stadium.

Stroud, Houston’s Pro Bowl passer, suffered a concussion when he was hit at the end of a slide early with 14 minutes remaining in the second quarter. Davis Mills took over at quarterback after Stroud’s injury, leading to a career-high five goals from Ka’imi Fairbairn, but the Texans’ inability to score in the red zone led to Denver’s eventual comeback.

In the final 18 minutes, Houston punted six consecutive times, with four drives leading to a three-and-out. Mills, who previously started in Houston in 2021 and 2022, completed 17-of-30 passes for 137 yards. The Texans were 0 of 3 in the red zone and converted just 18 percent of third-down conversions.

Pro Football Focus handed out player grades for those who took a snap in Houston’s loss against the Broncos and we broke them down by offense and defense. Below are the five highest and lowest grades on the offensive side of the ball after a surprising performance at NRG Stadium.

There were a few surprises in terms of the highest- and lowest-graded players, both on offense and defense. In fact, most of you can already guess who graded out in stellar and horrendous fashion.

Here’s a look at the five best offensive players below:

Top 5 offenseTE Dalton Schultz – 77.7WR Nico Collins – 75.0OL Ed Ingram- 70.2QB C.J. Stroud – 68.1OT Blake Fisher – 66.1

How bad was the offense? Stroud played less than 14 snaps and still graded out as a top-five offensive player. Schultz, who finished with a team-leading six catches for 77 yards, also graded out with a season-high 75.6 pass-blocking grade while also posting an 81.1 receiving grade.

Bottom 5 offenseWR Jaylin Noel – 43.2QB Davis Mills -43.6OL Juice Scruggs – 46.0OL Jake Andrews – 46.9RB British Brooks – 47.1

It’s hard to grade Noel since he only played eight offensive snaps behind Christian Kirk. As for the two offensive linemen, Andrews and Scruggs, both graded out with failing grades, though Scruggs had a passable grade in pass blocking. His 32.1 run-blocking was the lowest among all starters on either side in any category.

Mills, who finished with 137 passing yards and failed to find the end zone, graded out with a 46.8 passing grade.

Other notablesWR Christian Kirk -61.1RB Nick Chubb – 57.8WR Jayden Higgins – 53.9OT Aireontae Ersery – 56.9OL Laken Tomlinson – 56.7
